About Papaloizos Publications
In 1955 Dr. Theodore Papaloizos was teaching the Modern Greek language to his students at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, just as he had done for years. However, he felt that it was becoming increasingly difficult to find Greek language books that struck the delicate balance between thorough content and easy-to-follow methods.
He chose to resolve the issue by writing in his free time. He released his first book two years later (in 1957). With positive feedback from students and colleagues, Dr. Papaloizos kept writing. Now, more than 50 years later, Papaloizos Publications continues to publish instructional materials in print, on DVD, on CD, and on CD-Rom with a library of more than 100 titles. Papaloizos Publications top priority remains educating hundreds-of-thousands of students around the globe.

Papaloizos Publications is a family run business created in 1957. Theodore Papaloizos, owner, was teaching Modern Greek to his students and had a complex time discovering a Greek textbook that had a comprehensive method of teaching Greek. Also at that time, a strong need existed for Greek textbooks throughout US and Canada, so Theodore Papaloizos attempted to start writing his own books so he could teach his students effectively. Papaloizos Publications is the maker of Greek123 products. We specialize in books that teach Modern Greek to both adults and children. For more than 5 decades, our books have helped hundreds of thousands of students learn the Greek language. Papaloizos Publications has specialized in Greek education for over 50 years. Our lessons proceed step by step; introducing simple words and phrases first, then sentences and readings. Read, Write, & Speak Greek
Our books and readers are written in the monotonic system. Each provides information about Greece, its customs, and its history. Our workbooks (some with answers) contain multiple writing exercises that focus on grammar, identifying objects, phrases, translations, and verb conjugation.
Our CD's and CD-Rom are critical for developing an authentic pronunciation of Modern Greek and supplementing your book-based studies. Each book has cassettes and/or CDs, which cover the material page-by-page so students can listen and read along. Individuals, whether self taught or taught by a teacher or course, have had great success in learning the Greek language because of the use of these audiocassettes, CDs, and CD-Roms.
